Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952 and, with a reign that spanned more than 7 decades, she was the United Kingdomโs longest-serving monarch. Her rule as queen brought reformation to the monarchy as she interacted with the public through royal visits and attended public events. Although the years of her tenure saw some turbulent times and immense social change, with elegance and strength, Her Majesty maintained the monarchy as the rock on which modern Britain was built.
Queen Elizabeth II served as a figurehead for Britain and had a monumental presence on the world stage. Her reign as queen, as well as her unwavering commitment to service since her youth, has redefined the monarchy in a way that, given its duration, splendor, and prominence in a transformed society, will never be seen again.
