Jessica Cox, a recipient of The BrandLaureate Brand Personality Awards 2018, was born without arms due to a birth defect. Despite that challenge, she has emerged as the world’s first licensed armless pilot.
Doing away with prosthetic arms since she the age of 14, Jessica Cox flew a single engine airplane for the first time in 2004, earned her pilot’s certification 4 years later and is now qualified to fly a light-sport aircraft to heights of 10,000 feet. When she received a 1946 Ercoupe 415-C, she pledged its use to promote the Rightfooted Foundation International and its mission to inspire the disabled to overcome their challenges. Through the foundation, Cox mentors people with disabilities and advocates for disability rights.
A martial artist, a pilot, a motivational speaker, a humanitarian and a disability rights activist, Jessica’s message is one of perseverance and passion, inspiring brands to keep pushing forward and scale greater heights.
