MALAYSIAN Rock Legend Amy Search wowed audience with a `live’ performance at the recent ICON 2019 Awards on Dec 17, 2019, at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
It was a big treat for ardent fans who grew up listening to his music in the 80s. During the event, Amy also won the Celebrity ICON award in the category of Artiste and Rocker.
Indeed it was a much deserved honor and tribute to the legendary singer who rocked the local music scene during his time, and continues to do so.

During the interview, Amy also shared the secret on how he branded himself over the past 38 years to become an iconic artiste and a household name in rock music arena throughout the region.
His advice to young people: “To find your voice on the Road to Stardom, it is important to think big, create the right image, persona and voice to be heard in the competitive music industry and beyond.”

Amy (Suhaimi Abdul Rahman) is a Malaysian Musician, Singer, Songwriter and Actor. He is the lead vocalist for the Rock group, Search — regarded as the greatest rock band in Malaysia.
Established in 1981 in Johor Baru, with bandmembers Yazit (drummer), Hillary Ang (guitarist), Nasir (bass guitarist), Zainal (guitarist) and Amy (vocalist), the band was renowned for its sold-out concerts throughout the region.
Although the group went through many line-up changes, its songs and music remained strong and unique among Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian fans.
To date, the band has released 11 studio albums, a number of live, compilation and joint (with Wings) albums.
Besides singing, Amy has also acted in films such as Kembara Seniman Jalanan (1986) and Fenomena (1990). In 2010, Amy starred in the stage musical: Suatu Masa: Amy. With his inimitable voice, magnetic charm and talent, Amy continues inspire audiences with his signature charm.
