Tribute to Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Kok Wing (1946-2021)

THE BrandLaureate would like to express our deepest sorrow and condolences on the passing of Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Kok Wing, the founder of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, who died at the age of 75
— especially to his family, his son Datuk Seri Timothy Lim and daughter Datuk ‘Tiffanee Marie Lim, and the student fraternity of LKW University around the world.
Tan Sri was a great friend and supporter of The BrandLaureate over the years, and he has received numerous awards from The World Brands Foundation (TWBF) for his outstanding accomplishments as an innovative icon and game changer in the education industry.
He was also one of BrandLaureate’s Board of Governors.

The BrandLaureate World President DrKKJohan who is a close personal friend of Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing expressed his sadness.
“Tan Sri was a legendary icon of creativity and innovation in the education industry who brought the world together through Limkokwing University — his brainchild. His was a life well lived, he has achieved many milestones that changed the advertising and education sector today.”
“Many leaders can build a business but not a Brand. Tan Sri Lim built both and positioned it well that not many of his peers in his generation could.”
In remembrance, DrKKJohan said: “Today, I am wearing a special jacket Tan Sri gave me during my last visit to his university. I will always treasure it as a remembrance of our friendship.”

Also present was Pahang’s Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah, aka Tengku Fahd who praised LimKokWing for being able to gather so many people from various nationalities and cultures together through his university.
“The theme of the festival – ‘Peace is Possible’ is relevant at this time when the world is divided by culture, nationality, and religion,
“Limkokwing is an example of what we can do when we come together. So work together, help each other and remember that we are all part of the global community.” he added.
