New 2022 Perodua Alza to be launched next year
Codenamed D27A, the 7-seater multipurpose vehicle (MPV) model, which is similar to the newly-launched Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia, will come equipped with the latest car tech features.
Perodua president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the Alza is very unique, has its own followers and still receives around 1,500 bookings a month — after 12 years.
โHowever, the production of the current Alza will come to an end in January 2022 with a final build of 1,100 units,โ said Zainal.
The second-generation MPV will use the DNGA platform, a modular platform concept from Daihatsu which allows for shared parts between new models.
This new automative redesign concept will lead to faster and cheaper development of new models by sharing key components such as suspension, underbody, engine, transmission, and seats.
Zainal added: โPerodua is a responsible national car company. We want to make sure our customers have safety features and new technology to enjoy.โ
Meanwhile, Perodua is aiming for its highest ever monthly registration in its history with at least 30,000 units registration in December as it targets to end the year with over 200,000 units sold.
