CONGRATULATIONS to Lionel Messi, recipient of The BrandLaureate Legendary Award (Nov 2017), for winning the first Copa America with Argentina at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.

Argentina won their first trophy since 1993 after defeating eternal rival Brazil 1-0 on Saturday in the 22nd minute, to win the Copa America title. It was Argentina’s first major tournament with Brazil, the two most powerful national teams in South America in the final of Copa America in Rio.

The 2021 Copa America is Messi’s 10th major tournament with Argentina – comprised four World Cups and six editions of the competition to determine the champions of South America.
