SHAH ALAM (Feb 12, 2020) — With a total of 29,158 units sold since the Proton X70 was launched on Dec 12, 2018, It has become the best-selling premium and executive SUV in the country.

Being the first product in a joint-venture with Chinese conglomerate Geely in 2017, the mid-sized SUV, not only made a huge impact amongst Malaysians but made itโ€™s mark internationally.

Last July, the X70 was launched in Brunei, and was presented as a gift to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in December. Back home, it was used as the official car for APEC 2020.

Yesterday (Feb 12,.2020) marked another important milestone with the official launch of the X70, 2020 model.

During his speech, PROTON chairman Datoโ€™ Sri Syed Faisal Albar said the SUV needs no introduction.

โ€œThe X70 has exceeded our expectations in terms of sales and market acceptance. The past 14 months have been a turnaround for the Proton brand and company.

โ€œAs a national automotive company, Proton has been building cars for the past 35 years, and weโ€™ve always reminded ourselves that we have a duty to develop this industry.โ€

Built on a completely new production line in Tanjung Malim, the new 2020 Proton X70 brings a host of new features and technology at a lower price, which further increases the value of the vehicle.

Proton expanded the X70โ€™s color palette to six, including Space Grey, Snow White, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, Cinnamon Brown, and Ruby Red.
The variants have all received a marginal price drop, with the Standard 2WD model retailing at RM94,800 (RM5,000 less), the Executive 2WD model at RM106,800 (RM3,000 less) and the Premium 2WD model at RM119,800 (RM4,000 less), while the range-topping Premium X, is priced at RM122,800.

Clearly, Proton is not only back on track, but it has also gone the extra mile to further improve an already remarkable X70, fully equipped with intelligent advanced features both existing and new, which showcases the companyโ€™s commitment to excellence.
