KUALA LUMPUR — Congratulations to Hong Kong film producer and director Sampson Yuen 袁导 for bagging two prestigious awards at the BrandLaureate BestBrands Awards on June 27, 2019.

The awards are: The BrandLaureate International Brand Personality Award, and The Book of World Records for his box-office movie “Million Loves in Me.”
As reported, the independent film garnered the most international awards — a total of 93 international awards from 2017 to 2018.

BIODATA
With more than 30 years in the entertainment scene, Yuen is certainly a well-known player in the regional film industry.
His previous works include award-winning TV dramas and movies, acted by renowned Hong Kong stars such as Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung.
His other top grossing films are: “Bullets Over Petaling Street” and “Petaling Street Warriors” amongst others.

100 AWARDS
“Million Loves In Me” (MLIM) is a Hong-Kong- Malaysian drama film produced in 2017, which has won more than100 awards.
Making its silver screen debut in May 2018, the film garnered many international awards, including World Newcomer Filmmaker of the Year, Best Picture, Best Actress, World Actor of the Year, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Ensemble of Cast, Best Music, and Best Sound.

TRUE STORY
Inspired by a true story in Hong Kong, the film follows the story of a wealthy mother and daughter with obsessive-compulsive disorder, who turned into animal hoarders.Their misdemeanor was exposed in the media, after being charged by the HK police.

Later, the film which carries a poignant social message made waves throughout film festivals worldwide and won numerous awards, including The Asia Pacific International Filmmaker Festival Award, Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival Award, IndieFEST FilmAward, International Film Festival of Wales Award, Vienna Independent Film Festival (VIFF) Award, and the World Film Award, in Jakarta, amongst many others.
