Sir Sean Connery, the recipient of The BrandLaureate Legendary Award in 2015, who played the suave super spy, died at the age of 90 in his home in the Bahamas on October 31, 2020. His death marks the passing of a truly great icon, which came as a shock to the world, as he was considered one of the greatest movie stars of his generation,
“How infinitely sad to hear the news Sir Sean Connery has passed away,” stated a message on the Twitter account maintained for fellow Bond actor Roger Moore who died in 2017.
In 1962, Connery stepped into the tuxedo of British Secret Agent James Bond 007, and the entertainment world was never the same again.
Many people thought that Connery was the ideal Bond character. As an action-adventure archetype — women wanted him, while men wanted to be him.
